To create laminated guitar sides as described in the book and the guitar making dvd box set, four pieces of veneer are required per guitar in addition to the outer wood of choice (i.e. Indian or Brazilian rosewood). Side laminations are available here in a set of four veneers – enough for one guitar. Each piece in the set measures 32″ x 4″ x .022″ and the sets are available in two different types of wood, Alaskan yellow cedar, and pearwood. Alaskan yellow cedar will work well with either a spruce or cedar top guitar. Pearwood is an excellent choice for a cedar top guitar. Price of wood varies with the type of wood. I have laminated sides before to stiffen the sides but I wasn’t able to find Alaskan Yellow Cedar until I found that John has it available. Interestingly, I have done some work in the Pacific North West and I found that the people of the First Nations there consider Yellow Cedar a sacred wood and use it for their totems and sacred carvings. Good choice John
