The classical guitar lining mold is a two piece mold made of MDF used to laminate strips of wood to form guitar linings. These molds were created to be used with the plans, templates and side molds sold here and their use is demonstrated in my guitar making book and DVD series. They can also be used to create linings for a ’37 Hauser classical guitar.
The molds have been cut on a CNC machine for ultimate accuracy. The inner mold is offset for a perfect fit to the guitar sides. The upper and lower bout are splayed out slightly to compensate for the linings tendency to curl inward. 1/8″ neoprene gasket material has been added to the inner edge of the outer mold to add a cushion making clamping easier. Three 1/16″ thick pre-bent veneers (two maple and one mahogany) plus a hardwood maple block are included to make the glue caul necessary to install the linings. This mold will work with for the guitar design in both the book, dvd and ’37 Hauser classical guitar.
