These classical guitar strings are a mixed set that I use on all my classical guitars. The combination allows for easier and more accurate intonation. It also provides a smoother transition from the wire wound strings to the nylon. The E,A,D,B and 1st string E are all D’Addario EJ45’s and the G string is a Savarez Alliance normal tension.
Full D’addrio EJ45 Classical Guitar String Set Plus a Savarez Alliance Normal Tension G String
The D’Addario EJ45 string set includes all 6 strings and the Savarez Alliance normal tension G string. Not only is this classical guitar string set the set I put on every classical guitar I make, it is also the string set I have used on my personal guitar for many years.
Better Transition From Wire Wound to Nylon
In my opinion the D’Addario G string is too “fat” and has a tendency to sound dead. This causes a noticeable difference when transitioning from the wire wound strings to the nylon. The Savarez G string provides a much smoother transition across the strings. This was the reason I started using it in the first place.
An added bonus is the Savarez Alliance G string is much easier to intonate, making the set-up a breeze.
