    1) My impression is that the the bracing on the lower bout of the sound board creates the sprucetop dome. Do all the fan braces and diagnonal braces need to be shaped to 25″ radius to achieve this? The video seems to show a work board ( different from Solera) that provides a base for clamping the braces and patches to the sounde board. Doe this work board need to shaped with 25″ radias curve as well?

    2) Gluing rosette. It looks like you apply to cyanoacrylate glue to the top of of the veneer strips, Does this glue penetrate to the sides of the veneer strips?

    Thank you, John

    John,

    1) Yes, the fans and the diagonal brace on teh top need to be shaped to the 25′ radius. And yes, the workboard you saw being used for the top was built for convenience. The lower bout is ahaped to the 25′ radius but flat from the top to about 3/4″ below the lower transverse brace.

    2) If you use the thin cyanoacrylate glue it will penetrate the sides of the strips.

    Thank you

You used a band saw to coarsely establish the radius curve on the back braces before using the radius sanding disc.

Do I need to use band saw for the top braces as well?

On the top braces I just use a hand plane. There really isn’t that much to remove. It’s less of a radius and the distance is shorter.
