Originally designed to help save time in the guitar making process, and improve quality of the resulting guitars, these shop aides are now available to everyone. These jigs and fixtures can be used to save time and improve the quality of your guitar building efforts on any guitar design.

Bench Hook and Shooting Board Plans - Available FREE!
Plans (PDFs) for the bench hook and shooting board are available free from J.S. Bogdanovich Guitars. Click here to download these full color plans. These plans came as a zip file. Unzip the file and the drawings are in a folder called Shop Tools. These plans can be printed on 8 1/2 x 14 piece of paper.
Purfling and Binding Cutting Attachment for Router
The original plans for this device that appeared in the book were redone for the DVD. The result was a more complete set of drawings for the purfling and binding cutting attachment. The attachment, which can be mounted on any laminate trimming router, was demonstrated in both the guitar making book, and the DVD box set by John Bogdanovich. The attachment is is designed to cut both the purfling and binding channels and may be used on any type of acoustic guitar. When cutting channels for the bindings it is recommended that they are not cut in one pass but multiple passes since this is a good bit of wood to remove at once with such a small bit. The purfling channels being smaller may be cut in one pass. The two piece attachment is fully adjustable for both depth and height of the cut. Heel Cutting Jigs
This set of guitar making jig plans contains plans for a side slot cutting fixture used to cut slots for the sides in the heel, and a sled for cutting the cheeks on the inside portion of the heel. The side slot cutting fixture is designed to be used on a table saw and uses UHMW plastic runners that will allow the fixture to slide in the table slots of the saw without sticking caused by expansion from humidity. Easy to make and easy to use it will cut the slots in any scale length neck without the need for adjustment.
The inside heel sled is used to cut the cheeks of the inside heel on the correct angle quickly and easily. This sled is used on a band saw (do not use on a table saw) without the need to tilt the table. Since the wood at the heel in rough form (when these cheeks are cut) is three inches thick, this a difficult cut with a hand saw. The sled is easy to make, and easier to use, making perfect cuts every time.
