Guitar Making Information
In this section you will find useful information on a variety of topics relating to guitar making. This section will be expanded regularly to include new and interesting aspects of guitar making. Currently, covered topics include guitar wood, guitar making shop and shop tools, luthier tools and equipment and guitar making techniques. This information is may hopefully answer some of the more commonly asked questions and will assist with your guitar building efforts. New topics will be added as they arise.
Customers that have watched the videos and read the book keep me busy with questions all the time. I am happy to answer them, but sometimes it takes a while with all that is going on here. This section will hopefully answer some of those questions as well a provide a source for guitar making information in general. There are many topics to cover so we'll take them one at a time.
Two of the most commonly asked topics are tools and equipment, and guitar wood. These two topics are covered here in great detail. There is also a section on guitar making techniques where you will find information on a variety of topics including side bending and laminating, making linings, and constructing the guitar's solera. Topics are accessed in the left sidebar under the heading of guitar making information. These pages cover the types of wood used in guitar making, selecting your wood and the effects of moisture content in the air on your wood. These pages provide good information on these topics that will hopefully help with your guitar building efforts.

Guitar Making Tools & Equipment Information
One of the most frequently asked questions I receive is on tools and equipment. To make guitars you will need pretty good collection of tools. It is possible to make guitars with a minimum of heavy equipment but you will still need a good amount of hand tools, and a small number of power tools. You will find suggestions and recommendations on all these things in the applicable page links in the left side bar under guitar making information. There are also a couple of pages on the guitar making shop itself and the types of shop tools recommended for guitar making.
