This was because all the information did not exist in any one place. Now all you need is contained on these 10 discs including the drawings. And be sure to download the booklet(pdf) for additional tips and advise.

About the Guitar and Process

The guitar being built in the video is the current design used on all Bogdanovich classical guitars. This is a proven guitar design sought by players internationally. The 650mm scale length guitar features Indian rosewood back and sides, a European spruce top, a completely new detail scheme, including a new rosette design. A new bracing pattern features an open lower transverse brace on the soundboard designed to incorporate more of the top directly in sound production. Enhancements have also been made to improve the treble response. For improved playability and ease of set up a more elegant approach is taken with regard to the fingerboard. The edges of the sides are tapered in the upper bout to accept the fingerboard without the need to relieve its underside. In the evolution of this guitar design, small incremental changes were made for better sound and more consistent playability over a number of years. This design is the culmination of those changes.

Along with the new design, new building techniques are also demonstrated here. Geared toward the experienced woodworker, the building techniques presented here utilize power tools and equipment more to get the job done faster and with more accuracy. It is assumed the viewer has experience with woodworking, woodworking tools, power tools and equipment. The guitar and methods presented in the book can be thought of as geared toward first time builders if you will. The guitar and methods presented in the DVD demonstrate how to build a great guitar. The guitar making techniques demonstrated in the video may also be used to build the guitar from the book, or any guitar design for that matter. This guitar project may be a bit more difficult. So if you would like a challenge, try this guitar.

The video format is NTSC wide screen for all regions. In the future if HD technology becomes affordable to produce on this scale an HD version will be released. Click here to purchase "Making a Concert Classical Guitar".
